About Us

The Ariel Glaser Pediatric AIDS Healthcare Initiative (AGPAHI) is a Tanzanian NGO that evolved from the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) as part of a broader PEPFAR vision and strategy to strengthen local ownership of HIV/AIDS programming. The organization, founded in 2010, was officially registered in 2011 under NGO Act Number 24 of 2002 of the United Republic of Tanzania.

OUR VISION

Ariel Glaser Pediatric AIDS Healthcare Initiative envisions there is  “No Child with AIDS.

 

To achieve its mission, AGPAHI implements three strategic objectives:

  • Quality intergrated HIV/AIDs services,
  • Resource Mobilization, and
  • Institutional Capacity strengthening;

AGPAHI has supported the Tanzanian MINISTRY OF HEALTH, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, GENDER, ELDERLY AND CHILDREN(MoHCDEC) in rolling out its national care and treatment strategy through working very closely with the Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG) in the supported regions.  

AGPAHI advocates for and implement national policies to eliminate pediatric AIDS and supports nationally designated antiretroviral therapy (ART) sites within supported regions of Tanzania.

Currently, AGPAHI supports 473 facilities in which 266 are care and treatment facilities and 207 are  PMTCT sites in Shinyanga, Simiyu and Mara and Mwanza regions.
