Dr. Safila

Dr. Safila Telatela

is a Medical Doctor, Pediatric and Child Health Specialist, with postgraduate Diploma in Public Health from Manchester University UK. Her experience spans from working in Comprehensive HIV and AIDS, Maternal, neonatal and child Health (MNCH), Pediatrics HIV, Prevention of Mother to Child HIV Transmission (PMTCT), HIV Early Infant Diagnosis (HEID), TBHIV to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Joined AGPAHI in Jan 2017, as a Director of Programs, she came from JHPIEGO where she was a Program Manager for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health program and also worked as an interim Director of Infection, prevention and Control, as well as an Advisor for two projects.

Maternal and Child Survival project MCSP) as Newborn Health Advisor and SAUTI project. Prior to JHPIEGO, she worked in HIV and AIDS programs at Maryland University Baltimore –Tanzania office (formally Institute of Human Virology-IHV) as a Lead for Prevention of Mother- to -Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT), Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) and Pediatrics.

At AGPAHI, she also serves as a Secretary to the Board Committee of Technical, Communication and Advocacy and has a certificate of Directorship course from Institute of Directors in Tanzania (IoDT)and Vaccinology, Neglected Tropical Diseases
