Board Member

He was appointed on the 11^th December, 2020 to serve in the Board of AGPAHI as a Board Member. He is the Chairperson of the Advisory Board for Kibong’oto Infectious Diseases Hospital since 2017. He also chairs a number of scientific committee meetings organized by NIMR-Muhimbili and other stakeholders. Since 2014 he is working as a WHO consultant supporting countries in Africa to strengthen control of tuberculosis with main focus on drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB). He has also supported a number of countries to develop strategic plans to access funding from the Global Fund.

Currently, he has retired as a Programme Manager for the National TB and Leprosy (NTLP) under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. He was also a founding member of the Global Stop TB Partnership focusing on TB/HIV interventions. Before that he spearheaded the introduction and scaling up of the Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses in Tanzania. He holds a Masters’ of Medicine degree and has attended a number of short courses outside the country on Program management, monitoring and evaluation, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Control of Infectious Diseases including emerging and Re-emerging diseases.
